IQuit Program Options

Both of IQuit with AHEC’s programs educate participants on the health effects related to tobacco use, but more importantly, we teach participants how beneficial quitting tobacco is and what to expect when quitting.  A highly-trained Tobacco Cessation Specialist or trained facilitator guides participants as they identify triggers and withdrawal symptoms, and brainstorm ways to cope with them.

IQuit with AHEC Program Options:

1. A one-time, intensive 2-hour seminar in which participants receive information on how to select and prepare for their own quit date.

2. A group meets one-hour a week for six weeks and offer each other support.  Most participants quit the day of the third meeting.

Both IQuit with AHEC Programs cover the topics:

  1. Addiction, withdrawal and medications that help
  2. Planning for the quit date
  3. Dealing with triggers
  4. Overcoming cravings
  5. Relapse prevention
